Often
we come across people who often think or recollect the problems they faced
earlier in life and spoil their present happiness. This is mere idiotic
attitude. The wise way on the other hand is to think or dream of the ‘heaven’
while in hell in order to forget the problems and to lead a happy life.
God,
the creator has given us plenty of good things and ‘memory’ is one such faculty
without which we or even no animal could survive. Without memory our lives
would be miserable but, at certain times the same memory ruins our life when we
misuse it. Being sharp is not the fault of the ‘knife’ when we misuse it. After
all it is a ‘mindless’ knife and it can’t do anything on its own except to obey
the orders of its user. A wise person will use ‘knife’ for useful purposes but,
a fool will misuse it and will beget problems and pain.
The
same is the case with ‘memory’ power. If we use it for ‘good’ purposes it can
make you happy and on the other hand if you use it in a wrong way it will fetch
you misery. Memory is of great use to us in day to day life without which we
can’t survive in the world. But, if you use it in a wrong way definitely it
will ruin your ‘happiness’ and life too.
Suppose
you are resting on a cushion bed and are happy at the moment. Then if you think
of the situation how it would be if you were sitting on a bed of thorns and
start to scream, how idiotic it is! You are creating a hell out of the heaven
you have. This is the attitude of the foolish persons. Even in the happy
situations, they remember something bad from the past and spoil the pleasure of
the moment and spoil the mood of the others too surrounding them.
But,
there are totally different people who though they are in misery they keep a
smiling face and keep others too happy. This attitude comes in two ways. If the
person is highly mature then will understand the situation and life well and
come to know that problems are a part of life and there is nothing to ‘feel’
due to them. This attitude comes out of total understanding of life. So, they
will not spoil their mind and will not lose their peace of mind. But, this is
not so easy; only few ‘matured’ people can do this and forget their sorrow.
The
second way is to think of the ‘good’ things in life while in sorrow and
suffering and to forget or minimize the sorrow right a hand. This is like
spending the night thinking of the bright day ahead.
While
in suffering think of a joke, or plan for something good or dream of the good
and sweet moments in your life – so that your sorrow will disappear or would
become minimal. Compared to the first attitude, this second way is not
difficult even for the common man.
So,
next time if you are in troubles follow the first and if you fail to attain the
peace follow the second method and you will be kool!
