It is impossible to find a person on the globe
either alive or dead who didn’t taste some sort of trouble in life. We are
living in the dualistic world – all things in this world have two dimensions
for example; night and day, heat and cold, wisdom and ignorance, light and
darkness; similarly – joy and sorrow are the twin brothers present in the
world. The moment you experience joy – it implies that you would have to
experience sorrow too because, these come together and no one can separate one
from the other. Is it possible to separate the valley from the mountain? Is it
possible to separate the wave crest from the wave trough? Nay - it is quite
impossible.
The moment you choose ‘day’ – you are
choosing both ‘light and darkness’ together but, it is impossible to have only
one thing in life - this is the in-built principle of this world.
Another striking feature of the world is
that, the deeper you experience one thing the other things too you have to
experience to the same level. This is explained by the ‘sea-saw’ principle. In
the ‘sea-saw’ – the lower one side goes down to the same extent the other side
goes up and it can’t be the other way. More you feel the ‘joy’ – the more you
will have to feel the ‘sorrow’ too, to the same intensity level. This is
another in-built principle of this world.
The feeling of joy or sorrow depends on how
‘sensitive’ you are! The more sensitive you are – you will feel more joy from
the world and consequently you will have to feel more ‘sorrow’ too, to the same
depth of intensity. This is another reason people afraid to become more and
more ‘sensitive’ and they don’t want to get rid of their ‘insensitivity’ or
‘rashness’. People stick to ‘rashness’ because they know deep down in the
sub-conscious that they would have to suffer a lot if they turn ‘sensitive’.
Spiritual practices are the best means to
make a person ‘sensitive’. Majority of the people deny it because in their sub-
conscious they knew it well – if they turn sensitive they are bound to suffer
more in the world.
That is why philosophers deny both – they
deny all the dualities and teach us to go beyond everything. They don’t choose
‘joy’ of this world so, naturally they don’t have or untouched by the ‘sorrow’
of this world too. They go beyond every duality. This is the ONLY method REALLY
possible to overcome sorrow and suffering to the core. The enlightened mystics
would accept whatever comes into their life without any choice – so, they don’t
feel ‘joy’ and they don’t feel ‘sorrow’ too. They are beyond all the dualities.
This is what ‘absolute’ maturity is – and knowingly or unknowingly all the
creatures are trying to attain this ‘supreme state’ but, this will not happen
all of a sudden. The ‘soul’ has to take many births before it could attain this
‘state ultimate’. This is the only authentic way possible in order to overcome
all the miseries, ignorance, sorrows and grieves in the world. But, it is not
so easy that too for the modern worldly man. In order to attain that state – it
requires rigorous spiritual practices and a strong morale.
The other two wise methods to overcome troubles, sorrows and sufferings are somewhat not so
difficult and any common man could practice them without much difficulty. These
two methods are: ‘deep understanding of
life’ and ‘think of heaven while in hell’.
These two methods have been dealt in detail
in the previous article and you could get them at the following like, both methods
have been given in the same article;
